Decentralized Leadership: An Insider’s Look at the 2012 Israeli Social Justice Struggle

The social justice struggle of summer 2012 caught most of us off guard, and the confusion that overtook organized Jewish communities was rooted in the gap between the leadership models that they were familiar with and the models that formalized as part of the struggle. We will attempt to understand the roots of the social justice struggle and review findings from a field survey conducted over the course of the protests and look at several insights from the parallel U.S. struggle.
